Rebecca & Jared Bassoff - Owner & Head Chef
Gastronomic concept
In the heart of Prenzlauer Berg and thus just a few steps away from the Schönhauser Allee S-Bahn station, Estelle now presents itself with a sophisticated yet casual concept. Chef Jared Bassoff combines artisanal perfection with the best seasonal products, most of which are sourced locally. His dishes invite you to a relaxed feel-good meal - without chichi, but with extra flavor.
The focal point of his cuisine is the high-quality stone oven from Gozney, which reaches temperatures of up to 450 degrees Celsius and is therefore particularly suitable for preparing creative oven dishes, but also crispy pizzas.
About the hosts
Behind the Estelle Dining concept are husband and wife team Rebecca and Jared Bassoff, two experienced restaurateurs who learned their craft from the ground up and have already gained experience in some of the best establishments in the world.
Growing up in a family of restaurateurs, Rebecca was born into the hospitality business. After her first stop at the world-famous Traube Tonbach in Baiersbronn, her path took her almost around the globe - first to London to the luxury hotel chain Four Seasons, then on to New York, Geneva and Hong Kong, where she worked for five years at the renowned Mandarin Oriental. It was a formative time, during which she worked with top chefs such as Pierre Gagnaire and numerous guest chefs such as Tim Raue, Heston Blumenthal and Daniel Humm at the hotel's three Michelin-starred restaurants. But the time in the Big Apple was also to be groundbreaking for the native of Baden, as it was there - in Joel Robuchon's Atelier at the Four Season Hotel - that Rebecca first met Jared, who had signed on there as Sous Chef.
This was followed by further renowned stations for Jared, such as at the Hotel de Ville in Crissier, awarded with three Michelin stars, and at the Café Gray in Hong Kong, which was awarded with one Michelin star. In the Chinese metropolis, he also worked hand in hand with Matt Abergel for four years at his restaurant Yardbird ( San P Asia 50 Best) and also opened Ronin and Sunday's Grocery as head chef. Then in 2016, Jared finally came to Berlin and hired on at The Store at Soho House Berlin.
